Bulletin Articles from January 5, AD 2014: Worshiping the Lord & Who Inherits the Earth?

Worshiping the Lord

Abraham thanked the Lord constantly, as evidenced by when he moved to a new place, he did something special, “And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD. So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South” (Genesis 12.8–9).

Abraham kept in constant communication with the Lord, worshiping Him, thanking Him, and dedicating things to Him.

Even as our parents taught us repeatedly to say thank you, so we need to remember to tell God thank you repeatedly, and worship with the church, and in private, and dedicate our lives to Him. DR

Who Inherits the Earth?

Jesus promised, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5.5).

God gives the meek (gentle people), the earth, that is, whatever they want and need, for they have developed the right spirit.

Conversely, remember that during the days of Noah, God destroyed the violent with the earth.

We do not get what we want and need by force, but by working with God and with people, being gentle along the way so that people and God are motivated to give to us, because they like the spirit that they see in us. DR
