Some Will Not Like Your Good Works

You can count it, if you do something good, if you seek to improve your congregation, or your place of work, or your neighborhood, some people will not like it. They will then set their sights on you to hurt you.
I have witnessed it many times, and you see it in the Bible, “Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion” (Neh 4.7, 8).
Those people, especially Tobiah, were a constant thorn in the side of Nehemiah and his people, but he did not let that stop him. He dealt with the problem and continued his good work.
Death Could Not Stop the Son of God

As Peter preached his sermon, recorded in Acts 2, and he told the people that they had crucified and put to death a Man whom God had approved, yet, Peter explained about Jesus, “whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it” (Acts 2.24).
Jesus is the Son of God and death could not hold Him. This is why He had promised, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matt 16.18).
Jesus would build His church and the gates of Hades would not prevent Him from doing that. When He died, His soul went through the gates of Hades (not hell), and three days later, He went back out through the gates and was resurrected to build His church.
The Jews tried to stop Jesus by killing Him, but it did not work. Jesus is the Son of God, Lord of heaven and earth.
