Questions About the Earth

By Don Ruhl

Job acted as though he knew more than God. Therefore, God asked Job a series of questions designed to show how little he knew. God wanted Job to answer, “Who determined [the earth’s] measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” (Job 38.5–7).

Atheists, evolutionists, and other secularists need to answer those questions. They question how God could do various things, but what do they know? Their speculations change constantly. Why should we rely on their guesses on the origin of all things?

Receiving Preachers

By Don Ruhl

Paul and Barnabas went to the church in Jerusalem, “And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders; and they reported all things that God had done with them” (Acts 15.4).

The Jerusalem Church, the Jerusalem preachers, and the Jerusalem elders all received Paul and Barnabas, treating them as the Lord wants Christians to treat His messengers.

Moreover, the church, the preachers, and the elders listened to Paul and Barnabas report on their work. The church did not consider that Paul and Barnabas bragged, but they reported what God had done through them.

How do you treat visiting preachers?
