Satan Looks for Opportunities
By Don Ruhl
Israel angered the Lord, so He allowed Satan to move David to number Israel, and David did that thinking Israel’s strength rested in her numbers, and so for a moment David did not trust the Lord for strength, “Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel” (1Ch 21.1).
Satan hated Israel and David, and Satan hates us. If we give him an opportunity to strike us, he will do it.
Remember what Peter said, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1Pe 5.8).
Why Some Do Not Believe
By Don Ruhl
Some people just do not believe what Jesus says, nor do they believe other parts of the Bible. Jesus explained why when a group of Jews asked Him whether He was the Christ, and He said, “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you” (John 10.26).
That makes sense. If someone is not one of the sheep of Jesus and has no desire to be one of His sheep, they will not accept as the truth what He says. That is why arguing with an atheist can be so frustrating. We may still need to talk with him, but that explains why he will not consider your argumentation.
Do you believe all that Jesus says and all that the Bible says?
