The Word of God’s Lips
By Don Ruhl
When it came to the works of men, David listened to the Lord to avoid falling into the destructive ways of man, “Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer” (Psa 17.4).
He also needed to speak to the Lord about the possibility of falling into man’s corrupt ways, so David wrote further, “Uphold my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps may not slip” (Psa 17.5).
Listen to God and let God listen to you. That brings success in life and prevents failure.
They Complied Immediately
By Don Ruhl
Paul found some disciples who had been baptized, but into John’s baptism and not into the baptism of Christ. Paul revealed to them the work of John and of the Holy Spirit, and that we should be baptized into Christ today. Luke then wrote, “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 19.5).
They did not argue, they just did what they needed to do. Think today on whether you are like that. When you discover in the word something that you need to be doing, do you start doing it or find reasons not to do it?
