The Mightiness of our Lord

By Don Ruhl

Moving water can shape the land while moving boulders of any size. Stand next to a rushing stream and hear the noise of the water crashing over the rocks. Stand at the foot of the sea and hear the waves, which are small in comparison to the ocean, yet, the sound can be very loud.

However, the Maker of the water and waves is far greater, “The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea” (Psa 93.3, 4).

Moving water can destroy virtually anything, even taking human lives, but remember that the Lord is mightier than the strongest waves.

What God Can Do with Jews and Gentiles

By Don Ruhl

Gentiles should never boast that Jews have been cut out as branches from God’s olive tree, because He can just as easily graft them in again, “For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?” (Rom 11.24).

The Gospel is for the Jews first and the Gentiles second. If God can bring in the Gentiles who believe, He certainly can bring in the Jews who decide to believe again.

Let us not have a contrary attitude toward those of other cultures, but let us see that God wants to accept all and that we should have the same attitude as He.
