Prelude:
- Should we like what Jesus liked?
- What does it mean that we are His disciples?
- He is our Teacher.
- Therefore, we want to know His material.
- Where did He get His teaching material?
- I researched this and
- it seems that the consensus is
- He quoted from the Book of Deuteronomy more than any other.
- Jesus quoted twenty-four Old Testament Books, and
- one Book stands out as His most quoted,
- The Book of Deuteronomy.
Persuasion:
- What Is the Book of Deuteronomy?
- Its name comes from two Greek words.
- Deutero, meaning two or second, and
- Nomos, meaning law.
- Deuteronomy is the second giving or second reading of the Law.
- The time in the wilderness was almost over, but
- Moses would not join Israel in the Land of Canaan.
- Therefore, He recounted to them
- their history and
- what God wanted them to know and to do.
- Its name comes from two Greek words.
- Matthew
