A Woman Helps a Prophet

“Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food” (2Ki 4.8).

Therefore, she persuaded her husband to provide a room for Elisha, knowing that he was a holy man of God (2Ki 4.9–11).

We should likewise support those who give their lives to the preaching of God’s word, but those who preach God’s word should not take advantage of their position either. DR

People Will Feel Your Acceptance

Jesus asked a woman of Samaria for a drink of water, which surprised her, “Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, ‘How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?’ For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans” (John 4.9).

A simple request communicated a grand message of acceptance!
