Remember Why We Should Obey the Lord
Moses told Israel to keep the commandments of God, and here is why, “For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land…” (Deuteronomy 8.7–9).
Then he pictured the goodness of the land. After that, Moses reminded them of something else they were to do, “When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you” (Deuteronomy 8.10).
Israel, obey God because of the good land He is giving you. Again, Israel, bless God because of the good land He has given you.
Church, obey God because He has given you every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Church, bless God because of the good home that awaits you upon leaving this earth. DR
Acknowledging that Jesus Spoke the Truth
A scribe asked Jesus what He believed was the greatest commandment, and Jesus answered that it was to love God, and Jesus added that the second greatest commandment was to love your neighbor.
The scribe replied, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices” (Mark 12.32–33).
The scribe understood the point of the Law, and he could see that Jesus did also.
What do you think of Jesus and His teachings? Do you agree with what He taught? If you agree in your heart and verbally, do you also agree by living those teachings? DR
