Personal Reporting

Reading a report, or even seeing a video report does much good, but to have the speaker present is better.

Paul wrote to the Colossian Church, reporting on various things, but he also sent two brethren who could report in person, “I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that he may know your circumstances and comfort your hearts, with Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you all things which are happening here” (Colossians 4.8–9).

In our Internet world, let us not forget face-to-face meetings. DR

God Prospers Those Who Fight Evil

As the Lord spoke a prophecy against Babylon, He said of Cyrus of Persia, “All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The LORD loves him; he shall do His pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be against the Chaldeans. I, even I, have spoken; Yes, I have called him, I have brought him, and his way will prosper” (Isaiah 48.14–15).

Even as the Lord used Babylon against Judah to punish them for their sins, so the Lord would use Persia against Babylon to punish them for their sins.

While Cyrus may have thought he was doing his own will, in truth, the Lord operated behind the scenes, prospering Cyrus and Persia because Babylon had become exceedingly arrogant.

Therefore, the Lord prospered Cyrus, and the Lord will prosper those who preach righteousness and against wickedness. DR
