The End of Those Who Get Riches Unrighteously
When someone takes riches that do not belong to him, he is like a partridge, “As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he who gets riches, but not by right; it will leave him in the midst of his days, and at his end he will be a fool” (Jeremiah 17.11).
If God wants to bless you with wealth, let Him do it, because trying to do it in unjust ways will only lead to foolishness, and dying as a fool. DR
Flee Evil, Pursue Righteousness
After speaking of the dangers of ungodliness and the love of money, Paul told his young friend Timothy, “But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness” (1 Timothy 6.11).
Run away from that which shall tear down your soul; run after those things that will build up your soul. DR
