Why Ammon Disappeared
What happened to the nation of Ammon? Amos will tell you, “Thus says the Lord: ‘For three transgressions of the people of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they ripped open the women with child in Gilead, that they might enlarge their territory” (Amos 1.13).
They destroyed unborn children for selfish reasons of ambition. Therefore, the Lord promised, “‘But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour its palaces, amid shouting in the day of battle, and a tempest in the day of the whirlwind. Their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together,’ says the Lord” (Amos 1.14–15).
What shall happened to a nation today that does the same? DR
The Words of a New Song
When Jesus took a scroll from the hand of God, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders worshiped Jesus, saying, “And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth’” (Revelation 5.9–10).
I just love to read those words, because truly Jesus, the Lamb of God, is worthy, and praise God that Jesus saved us by His blood. DR
