Recognize Temporary and Permanent Aspects

  1. Binding and not binding
    1. Some things were binding at one time, but no longer are.
    2. Some things were binding in the past and still are.
      1. This would include things from the patriarchal and Mosaic ages.
      2. Miraculous gifts served a temporary purpose.
        1. Mark 16.15–20
        2. Heb 2.1–4
  2. Something binding in a temporary thing
    1. John 13.1–17 shows Jesus washing feet.
      1. Was He binding foot-washing or using it to bind something else?
      2. Did foot-washing originate with Christianity?
        1. Or was it simply a need?
        2. What did He bind permanently?
    2. 1Co 11.2–16 explains the wearing of a veil by women.
      1. When was a woman was to wear a veil?
      2. Was it just during the worship service or while she was praying or prophesying?
        1. Can we prophesy today?
        2. What is prophesying?
      3. Does this passage include any permanent principles?
        1. How can a woman show subjection today, especially during worship?
        2. What does 1Co 14.33–35 contribute to this discussion?
