A Weak Leader
Leaders are leaders for a reason. They trail-blaze the path of life and expect others to follow. What good is a leader if he does not lead, but follows what the people want to do?
Some men wanted to kill Jeremiah and they approached the king with their desire. Do you think the king was a leader or follower? “Then Zedekiah the king said, ‘Look, he is in your hand. For the king can do nothing against you’” (Jer 38.5).
Zedekiah did not lead as he should have, especially in those days when kings had the power of modern dictators.
Are you in a position of leadership? Are you leading or following your followers? DR
The Brightness of God’s Glory
Jesus was a carpenter and lived as an ordinary man until He began His ministry. Yet, He was so much more, as the Hebrew writer said, Jesus is, “the brightness of [God’s] glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb 1.3).
Now think on that the rest of the day and understand just who that carpenter was! DR
