A Summation of the Book of Revelation
See what John saw
Revelation 1.1–3
Don Ruhl • Savage Street, Grants Pass, Oregon • April 21, In the year of our Lord, 2013
Prelude:
- After Jesus died, came back from the dead, and ascended to heaven,
- the church grew rapidly.
- Then the Jews persecuted the church, but
- that did not stop the church
- rather the church seemed to grow more and faster.
- Then as the first century ended
- a greater and more powerful force
- began to attack the church bitterly.
- Would the church even make it out of the first century?
- Would the heavy hand of Roman persecution
- do what the Jewish nation could not do?
- Imagine that you have seen numerous of your brethren die, and
- you might be next.
- You need a message of encouragement.
- Then the Lord uses John to write the things that he saw – Rev 1.11
