Criminals and Justice

Read Solomon’s insight on the reaction of criminals to justice, and then watch the news and see what Solomon means, “Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand all” (Proverbs 28.5).

Criminals will think that justice is not fair, or that something is wrong with it, which is why they fight it, but listen to those who seek the Lord in their lives, and you will find people who understand what justice is. DR

What It Means to Serve a Congregation of God’s People

It is hard for me to describe the relationship that a preacher has with a congregation, but I do like what Paul said about himself and the Corinthian congregation, “Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation” (2 Corinthians 7:4).

See, on the one hand, he could speak boldly to them, rebuking them, or whatever, but then he would brag to others about the congregation.

They filled him with comfort, and when he experienced tribulation, he could remember the Corinthian brethren and find great joy in his heart. DR
