Recognize Temporary and Permanent Aspects
- Binding and not binding
- Some things were binding at one time, but no longer are.
- Some things were binding in the past and still are.
- This would include things from the patriarchal and Mosaic ages.
- Miraculous gifts served a temporary purpose.
- Mark 16.15–20
- Heb 2.1–4
- Something binding in a temporary thing
- John 13.1–17 shows Jesus washing feet.
- Was He binding foot-washing or using it to bind something else?
- Did foot-washing originate with Christianity?
- Or was it simply a need?
- What did He bind permanently?
- 1Co 11.2–16 explains the wearing of a veil by women.
- When was a woman was to wear a veil?
- Was it just during the worship service or while she was praying or prophesying?
- Can we prophesy today?
- What is prophesying?
- Does this passage include any permanent principles?
- How can a woman show subjection today, especially during worship?
- What does 1Co 14.33–35 contribute to this discussion?
- John 13.1–17 shows Jesus washing feet.
